Are you the kind of person who gets bored with your decor? I am. I love all of my stuff but I get tired of looking at the same things in the same place every day. So in order to liven things up, I give my rooms regular mini-makeovers.
Rearranging Furniture
Every couple of months I completely rearrange the furniture in the living room. I pull pieces away from the walls, reverse the placement of the sofas and chairs, I create new seating areas, and I place pieces of furniture in unexpected spots. All of these techniques are great ways to do a quick room makeover without spending a penny. I’m always surprised at what a big difference moving a few things around can actually do.
Replacing Throws & Pillows
Throws and throw pillows are perfect decorative accessories. They add color, pattern, texture, and honestly, I can’t get enough of them. Take everything off and start again. Use books, decorative objects, flowers, fabrics – whatever you’ve got, and arrange them in pleasing vignettes.
Rearranging Art
I’m a big fan of rearranging art to give a space a quick update. I suggest replacing large pieces with gallery-style arrangements and vice versa. And switch pieces from one room to another. You don’t need to buy anything new, just move it around the house. Remember, art doesn’t have to look perfectly placed all the time. It’s meant to be fun!
Replacing Light Fixtures
This one may cost a few dollars, but it’s easy and impactful. If your overhead fixture is heavy and bold, switch it out for something light and airy. If you have something modern, switch it out for something traditional. Or if you have a
Edit Your Accessories
Sometimes less is more – especially when it comes to clutter! So if you need a quick change go through your space and remove some of your accessories. Whether it’s picture frames, candlesticks, decorative
