I’m a sucker for throw pillows. Always have been. When I want a change and can’t afford to do anything drastic, new throw pillows always do the trick.

I moved into a new house a couple of months ago and I’m in the process of making some upgrades. This time around I’m trying an entirely new colour scheme. I usually go for rusty, Autumn colours, but in this house, the main living/dining/kitchen area is going to be red, blue and off-white. I’ve got the furniture, area rugs and window treatments, so now all I need is – you guessed it – throw pillows.

There’s a fair bit of pattern in the room already. I have blue and white floral curtains that span almost the entire length of the front wall, and they make a pretty bold statement. And the red Persian rugs are far from boring. So now I have to figure out what throw pillows will be the right compliment. There’s a little yellow and a little green in some of the art on the walls, so there’s a lot going on!

I’m really torn over what colours will work best. Part of me wants to layer the blue patterned pillows with off white for the sake of consistency, and part of me wants to add a punch of yellow or a fresh hit of green. The struggle is real my friends. The struggle is real.
